My name is Heather McConaghie and I live in N. Ireland with my husband Steven, our 4 children and my mum.
They all support me in my love of Ragdolls and allow me to abandon them and travel to England for meetings and shows etc. For that I am very grateful.
I saw my first Ragdoll on Blue Peter in the 1980s, shortly after they arrived in the UK and decided that one day I would have one. However it was not until more than 20 years later, when I gave up work to look after my mum that I was able to get my first one. Now little over a year later I have ten!
Although I am very new to breeding, what I lack in experience I make up for in enthusiasm. I am very lucky to have made some great friends in the Raggie world who are only a phone call away should I need any advice.
My prefix RIADARAGS is named after the kingdom of Dal Riada which stretched from the west coast of Scotland to Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland during the 6th century.
As far as I am aware I am the only Ragdoll breeder in N. Ireland, the only other one having recently retired.
My aim is to raise healthy, happy kittens with that typical laid back temperament we all know and love. I also hope to promote the Ragdoll breed in N. Ireland where compared to the mainland it is relatively unknown.
Besides my family and my cats my other interests, time permitting, are gardening, reading and cross-stitch.
